How to Reach your Personal Potential

July 28, 2011 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am PDT

Wendy Lea is an accomplished entrepreneur, angel investor and CEO of Get Satisfaction, a network of online support communities. She’s also an active philanthropist, serving on the board of Silicon Valley Social Venture Capital and Watermark (formerly The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and Executives). In the many chapters of her business life, from bootstrapped entrepreneur, to venture backed entrepreneur, to corporate executive, she strived to reach her personal potential.

As she approaches the next chapter, Wendy believes she’s in a “fabulous stage of life” and is ready to take on the next mountain. Her mantra? Take responsibility as a person first, then apply that responsibility to your professional context. First ask: Who am I? Then: what can I accomplish? Wendy sees her entrepreneurial life as a journey with many personal and professional discoveries and looks forward to meeting our TMD group and sharing the many lessons learned on her journey.

Wendy Lea is the CEO of Get Satisfaction, a community-based platform that helps companies engage their customers through open and transparent conversations that increase customer satisfaction, product insight and enhance customer loyalty. Wendy founded The Chatham Group, where she currently serves as an angel investor, strategic advisor and board member for a long list of startup companies. She also serves as a mentor to TechStars, a startup incubator based in Boulder, Colorado.

Wendy chairs the board of directors for The Forum of Women Entrepreneurs & Executives (FWE&E.org) and serves on the board of Silicon Valley Social Venture Capital (SV2.org). She was recently recognized as a Top 100 Woman of Influence in Silicon Valley. Previously, Wendy was a co-founder of The Sales Consultancy, where she developed sales methodologies that were adopted as global standards by IBM, Hewlett Packard, Cisco, Microsoft and Oracle. Her company was acquired by Siebel Systems in 1999.
