Sugar addiction and your health

August 27, 2015 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am PDT

Do you have a sweet tooth? If so, you probably feel powerless to resist the brownies or pastries that pass through your life. The reason for the desire to eat sweet things is because we are addicted to sugar. This is leading to the obesity our country is currently experiencing. How did this happen to our society and what can we do to combat it?

Sadly, just avoiding the sweet desserts does not solve the problem. Sugar is prevalent in so many things that we cannot hope to avoid it unless we do not eat food prepared anywhere other than from scratch in our our own home. All is not lost, though. Once you know where sugar is hidden and under what alias it hides, you will be on your way to a healthier life. In our members-only meeting, we can explore where sugar is hidden, how to find it, how to avoid it (the easy way) and the health benefits we will get from eliminating sugar from our diet.

Nicki Keating will lead the discussion after a short presentation. Nicki became an expert on sugar and its effect on her body as she was recovering from allergic rhinitis and rheumatoid arthritis. Her research allowed her to take control of her own health and she likes to share this information with other people so they may take charge of their own health.
