Tools for keeping peace in a partisan world

Many of us never imagined that conversations with our own families and longtime friends could become this hard—but here we are, trying to stay connected in a deeply divided time. For women who have spent decades building families, friendships, and communities, it can be especially painful to feel those bonds strained by political differences. If you’ve ever thought, “I just won’t bring it up”, or “Let’s change the subject”, you’re not alone—political conversations have become one of the trickiest parts of modern life.
During this interactive session, you’ll learn strategies for communicating across differences and fostering “peace in the house” with friends, family, and co-workers. You will learn:
- How to state views freely and fully, without fear
- How to treat people who disagree with us with honesty, dignity and respect
- How to welcome opportunities to engage those with whom we disagree
