SUMMARY:Your Health\, Your Family's Health - How to Get Empowered
DESCRIPTION:Jan Oldenburg\, a former member of TMD\, will talk about her personal health journey to being en empowered health consumer as well as discuss the actions you can take to improve your experience as a consumer\, patient or caregiver. She’ll also talk about the impact patient activation and engagement is having on the healthcare system as a whole. \n \nJan is the Vice President of Patient and Physician Engagement in Aetna’s Accountable Care Solutions Group\, working with providers to design and implement strategies and programs to increase patient engagement and empowerment. Prior to joining Aetna\, Jan was a Senior Manager in Kaiser Permanente’s web and mobile group. Jan is the primary editor of Engage! Transforming Healthcare through Digital Patient Engagement\, published in February 2013. She received her BA degree in English and Philosophy from Luther College in Decorah\, Iowa\, and completed coursework for a PhD in English at the University of Minnesota.
