DESCRIPTION:Women In Action is a nonprofit program designed to build the self-confidence of women making the transition from welfare to work. Outdoor adventure activities\, such as hiking\, kayaking and ropes courses\, teach women to confront self-defeating beliefs and increase their confidence. Ms. Nemsick designed a program that could provide learning experiences to women who were transitioning into the work field\, similar to programs like Outward Bound. Women In Action addresses the interpersonal skills students need to keep a job Ð leadership\, risk-taking\, and high self-esteem.
