Karen spoke about women’s entrepreneurship and how to help teen girls think about economic self-sufficiency. Prior to her work at the YWCA, she was Executive Director of Touchstone Support Network, a nonprofit agency serving children with life-threatening illnesses. She owned and operated two businesses, co-founded two nonprofit agencies, managed a local business association, and served with VISTA (domestic Peace Corps) in Appalachia, helping to start a cottage industry.
