Hilary Freeman

May 25, 2006 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am PDT

Hillary Freeman is a partner in Learn2Resolve, a company that trains elected officials, school communities and businesses in how to manage and resolve conflicts. Learn2Resolve has worked with such diverse clients as the National League of Cities and Jordan Middle School. She just recently completed a term on the Palo Alto City Council as the city’s first African American woman council member. Her diverse career and life experiences as a 15-year-old black college student in a Southern university, a U.S. marine biologist on a Soviet ship, computer programmer for a Japanese car company and an executive with a large high technology software company has enriched her ability to understand different backgrounds and the stereotyping that often leads to conflicts.

She’ll speak to TMD briefly about her life and then run a mini-workshop on conflict resolution so we will all have techniques we can use to defuse and resolve disagreements in our myriad relationships in business, in the home, and with friends and family members. The passion and life examples that Hillary brings to each workshop makes them interesting, fun and rewarding.
