DESCRIPTION:Denise Roy\, LMFT\, is a psychotherapist and an award-winning author of the books\, Momfulness: Mothering with Mindfulness\, Compassion\, and Grace and My Monastery Is a Minivan. She has been featured in numerous publications\, including: Real Simple\, The Washington Post\, Woman’s Day\, Redbook\, First for Women\, and San Jose Mercury News. \nFor the last 18 years\, Denise has had a private practice in Santa Clara as a licensed marriage and family therapist. She has also been the Director of the Women’s Center at Santa Clara University\, and holds a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Divinity from the GTU in Berkeley. Denise lives with her husband and two teenage daughters (the girls have taught her to be quite a pro at text-messaging). She also has three grown sons now in their 20s (& she’s thrilled that they return home for dinner on most Sunday nights!)
